Julia Quinn“Julia Quinn is truly our contemporary Jane Austen,” says Jill Barnett.

And indeed, she is a fabulous read! Whether it’s two best friends discovering each other and their passion (“When He Was Wicked”) or a young bluestocking coming into her own (“The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever”) or a very impulsive correspondant seeking her perfect love from afar (“To Sir Phillip, With Love”), she manages to bring out the best in each character.

Filled with humor, loss and above all, passion, Julia Quinn does an excellent job of capturing Regency England and it’s foibles, as well as imbuing each character with such a unique personality and perspective, that one does not feel she is writing the same story over and over.  Each set of characters is delightful, and seeing them reappear in other Bridgerton books enlivens the book, and whets one’s appetite for more stories!

About Morticia

I am in desperate need of chocolate. I'm an avid reader of paranormals, historicals, urban fantasy, regencies, and erotic romance. I write in the genres I love to read, at least when I don't have a multi-tasking breakdown! Did I mention I need chocolate?
